1000 Miles

Forsyth MT to Miles City MT
45 Miles

With today's 45 miles I am at 1000 miles since our start at the Pacific Ocean on July 1, 2013. Hard to believe how fast this adventure is going and how strong we are all getting. Even harder to believe that three months ago I could barely get out of bed because of my herniated disc.

Today's ride was fairly hilly but went fast as we rode along the interstate for a good part of the ride. I was slowly making my way up a long hill when I heard what sounded like rattling from rattlesnakes. Needless to say I found out that I can go up a hill a lot faster than I thought I could. Suzanne saw a dead one on the road but luckily I missed that site.

When we arrived in Miles City my package of sun protective clothing was waiting for me. I know this looks funny but it is a "head thing" that I can wear under my helmet

We went to lunch at a great Mexican restaurant where they actually had a vegetarian menu (a rear find in Montana) so here is a photo of delicious guacamole  and cabbage salsa. The main entree was spinach enchiladas with lots of vegetables.

Now laundry and chilling. Not sure ill be hungry for dinner. Tomorrow organizing, cleaning bikes, repacking,  etc. same as last week and then Tuesday we start all over again for week 4.

  1. My favorite post thus far: love the grub and the cactus tile underneath. So glad you're feeling good enough to accomplish such a feat; good luck as you continue!
